B&B Hippo-Droom

Pros: Excellent location near the Brussels East ring in the Zonienwoud/Foret de soignes and railway station. To my happy surprise, there was no noise from highway or railway (renewed sound barriers?). Easy parking. Friendly reception, spacy room with bathtub (our wish could be realized). Lobby with books and self service \

Cons: I would have like to stay a little longer, to discover the surrounding area. I hope to have the chance to come back and to enjoy a similar quality of reception!

Pros: A wonderful stay in a quiet location. Super helpful and kind. Excellent when you have a dog.

I wholeheartedly recommend Hippo-droom to anyone in need of a relaxing stay.

Pros: The location is what prompted me to book at Hippo-droom. Out in nature and surrounded by forests and lakes but still within a short distance from the airport. I was looking for R&R time to de-stress and find peace of mind. Hippo-droom did not disappoint. The walks in the Sonien forest and surrounding area proved cathartic and invigorating. Had I stayed longer than 5 days, I would have hired a bicycle for broader exploration. The villages in the environs were cute and friendly. There is a museum right by Hippo-droom and worth exploring. The rooms are large, clean and welcoming, with your own patio. The breakfasts were delicious and satisfying. Davy and Ilse were fabulous hosts - so accomodating and gregarious. They went out of their way to help me and to make my stay extra-pleasant. I shall definitely return there if I am ever in Belgium again.

Cons: I wasn't expecting to hear the trains at night, but after the second night I didn't even hear them anymore.

Pros: Very nice small b&b in the Sonian forest. Great place for walks in nature and to escape the city but also in proximity of the city. Lovely breakfast with fresh bread and pastries and the owners are also nice.

We were received with a nice and warm welcome, and had a good and comfortable stay!

Pros: We had the comic room and liked how everywhere there were comics on the walls! We were able to get breakfast even though we were almost too late.

Cons: We could hear guests staying next door to our room.

Countryside feeling in a big city.

Pros: For us this was a great location on the edge of the forest, with easy access to the ring road and Rhode St Genese. Used to be part of horse farm/stable, so lots of unique character and very comfortable rooms in former stalls. The owner explained ongoing improvements for even more comfort. Free parking available on site. We took a daily walk on trails in the forest, which was lovely.

Pros: Great location to travel with dogs, nice spacious room, lovely private garden. Relaxing atmosphere and comfortable bed

Cons: Nothing not liked but for 30 Euros/night for 2 dogs they could expect a little treat I think 😉

Cons: The lighting in the room was very poor...I understand that might be eco related and environmentally better but very hard to focus well in the room...could also be my age as well!!

Relaxing after days of work/office in the city.

Pros: Being in a middle of the forest/park only 20 min from Brussels center. perfect for relaxing after full day of work in the city offices. Staying outside of the city for work was an experiment - and a successful one thanks to the location, welcome and breakfast facilities at the B&B.

Cons: No grocery stores in the area - do you groceries in the city/before arriving.
