Quite unique and comfy!

Pros: Very spacious, light and comfortable. Quite unique location behind the church and close to the centre. The staff is very friendly and even let us in before the check-in time. Nice independent entrance. The apartment is beautiful.

Cons: The neighbourhood seems to be close to student area so it was quite noisy on the street in the evening.

A wonderful change of scenery from bland hotels. Careful of the stairs, tho!

Pros: These are individual properties with their own front door. No reception area so you can come and go as you please. Very private courtyard in the part where I stayed.

Cons: Ahhhh the stairs! a 17th Century conversion means the stairs are a real liability especially if you wear boots. I recommend going down halfway, turning round and then descending backwards down the rest! The only running water is upstairs.

Excellent hotel. Great service The room was very spacious, clean, and had the amenities we needed.

Pros: Friendly and personal service The staff were all very friendly and helpful and no request for assistance was a problem for them. The hotel is well situated, being close to shopping, transport, and the tourist sites. We would definitely stay there again.

Authentic and relaxing

Pros: Unique location! Authentically newly renovated house built against the outside wall of St Jacob’s church (where Rubens is buried) - with brick church walls as inside wall within ground floor living and loft style upstairs sleeping floor. Incredible fresh healthy & Belgian gourmet breakfast brought to us in the morning.

It was beautiful and a very good area of the city, we really enjoyed out stay here and will definitely be coming back he

Pros: It looks and feels like a little house, you feel at ease and comfortable in the house!

Cons: The shower leaked and the breakfast would be better priced at 10€

Fantastical!

Pros: Bernard was very friendly. We also loved the bath.

Pros: The oddness and unique character of the stay, the smart design solutions, the aesthetics, the seclusion while being central.

Cons: I woke up at night from banging sounds, which apparently was the rain that dripped down all the way from the church’s roof onto the flat surface of the apartments roof. Not recognizing the sound I was a bit alarmed, but in hindsight it’s also very charming.

Pros: Good location, clean, comfortable and friendly staff.

Pros: Location and comfort were excellent. The only big problem was the way to admission. It was not previous information about the way to get the keys. The code we have got was not the real code, but the Booking Code. This situation was inadmissible because we got to the place under the rain and nobody could explain us which of the 4 code registers on the external window was to be pressed, nor there was any indication of have to communicate previously by phone, nor that the real code was to be obtain at the place by phoning. The extra complication is that SouthAmericans don`t get wi fi on the European streets.

Pleasant stay in attractive surroundings.

Pros: Pleasant old building, very well located in the city centre. Staff helpful. Breakfast good when available. Spacious and attractive rooms.

Cons: TV had practically no English Language programmes (only two I think and not the kind of material that most Europeans would be interested in). I did not use the TV beyond checking the channels on the first evening. Breakfast not available early enough. The sleeping room was accessed by a very steep narrow stairway, which was difficult for me (even though it would be ok for some people).
