Fantastic location with wine, waffles and shopping all within a short walk

Pros: Location was fantastic and everything you needed was virtually on your doorstep

Cons: The stairs in the house - which is similar in most of Antwerp - are very difficult to traverse. The stairs to the basement room which was essentially the family room, had more vertical steps rather than what could be called stairs. This said, it wasn't unusual to the area but if you are not great on your feet or have very young children, then you should be aware of this.

We hebben ondanks de regen weer een fantastische kerst gevierd met ons gezin in Antwerpen!

Pros: Locatie, zeer centraal gelegen!!! Belangrijkste features op loopafstand, Vrijdagmarkt, Groenplaats, Brabo Parking etc. Je loopt zo het historisch centrum in en anderzijds naar de Meir. Het is op zich een mooi ingericht huis, ben je minder goed ter been, dan is het geen aanrader. Op alle verdiepingen bevindt zich een slaapkamer. De trap loopt langs de mooie, ruime slaapkamer op de eerste verdieping maar is niet afgesloten. Fijn dat de keuken op de begane grond is en dat je daar prima kan vertoeven. Het trapje naar de kelder is best een uitdaging, is meer een home cinema. Let wel, alleen streaming tv waarbij je met jouw eigen account in moet loggen, vergeet dus niet uit te loggen bij vertrek! De centrale badkamer met toilet is gelegen op de tweede verdieping, er is gelukkig ook een toilet op de begane grond. De trap in het huis is prachtig nostalgisch, maar niet echt praktisch en erg smal, moet wel zeggen dat het na een aantal keren beklimmen en afdalen wel went….

Cons: Een aantal kussenslopen roken zuur en dat slaapt niet echt fijn. Bleek ook dat er nog vochtige was in de wasdroger zat, dus dat is waarschijnlijk de verklaring… Verder was er geen kapstok aanwezig. Met 6 volwassenen in de winter, met allemaal een dikke jas niet echt handig, er is ruimte in de hal om haken aan de muur te maken! Het bankje met webbing zitting in de keuken was kapot, dat was jammer. Heb er daarna maar een kussentje op gelegd. Het huis is gelegen in een “schimmig” straatje pal achter de parkeergarage Barbo. Uitzicht vanuit het keukenraam op de Brabo Parking die dag en nacht verlicht is. ‘s-nachts bevinden zich ‘ongure’ types in het straatje. Onze zoon van 24 was alleen op stap omdat hij met vrienden had afgesproken in het centrum. Bij thuiskomst stond er een persoon pal naast de voordeur. Niet fijn om dan de toegangscode in te toetsen. Er is gelukkig niets gebeurt, maar toch…. Overdag overigens beslist geen last van gehad. Maar ik denk dat het ‘s-nachts beter is om niet alleen het thuis te komen.
