Modern elegance par excellence
Pros: We love a Van Der Valk hotel and Beveren never disappoints. Modern, excellent facilities, helpful staff, lots to entertain the kids and a great breakfast.
Cons: The menu in the garden restaurant is pricey and a bit random. Not quite sure what it is trying to be.

overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to go back. excellent
Pros: the hotel was beautiful, wonderful atmosphere and high class decoration. it had a very relaxing appeal and had plenty of options for dining, reconnecting. despite that there were lots of work going on with refurbishments, it did not impede on guests. the hotel catered for families, corporate and ,what appeared, local groups. All treated with professional curtesy. the food was outstanding and fresh, with fair choice of food. though as vegetarians, choice was a little limited and there was only one or two dishes for vegan diets. The breakfast was \
Cons: taking nothing away from above statements, if we were abled bodied guests, I would not be able to find anything we didn't like. was the the hotel accessible? yes, very. there was nowhere a person in a wheel chair could not go. on booking our room, a quick enquiry found that the room was not accessible, so the hotel kindly gave us a free upgrade to a accessible room, the bedroom was beautiful with plenty of room for most size wheel chairs. However, there was no door on the bathroom, it was a large space but had no ability to provide privacy and dignity to a disabled person. I enquired about this and was told that this was the design for accessible rooms. i pointed out that there was a groove in the ceiling for a slide door to be fitted but this was dismissed. i did look at other rooms but not were appropriate for my husbands needs so, we excepted the room given. i did find a couple of the staff a little abrupt over this issue ,borderline rude by one staff but i took it as lost in translation. if i could also add, that a fitted shower seat would be more appropriate for the access rooms and moved a little nearer to the main rain forest shower so that the disabled person can feel more secure and have a choice of which shower head they want to use, the removable one was great but some one with mobility issues might need to use both hands, also, a shower curtain would contain the water, this would make independent showering possible, as it is, i had to remove my husbands wheelchair once he was in the shower and bring it back once he had finished . but , please, fit a bathroom door. a grip rail at the side of the bed would also help when someone with mobility issues to get in and out of bed.
