Awesome stay in the heart of Mechelen

Pros: Simply amazing location in the middle of Mechelen, right next to Grote Markt and Sint Rombout Cathedral. The room is nicely decorated and you will instantly understand where its name is coming from. It was also very clean, had all the things we needed and a lovely little balcony as well. Bathroom amenities and the (not so) little kitchen were the cherry on the top.

Cons: As others already mentioned, the stairs to the first floor are steep and fairly narrow. As long as you're fit on foot, this won't be a problem though.

Quiet escape

Pros: Lovely quiet room, could not hear a sound outside. Comfortable mattress, slept very well. Lovely city, small but perfectly formed, we wished we had more time to look around. Host showed us map of the city.

Cons: Hadn't realised the bed was on a platform. Struggled with the shower.

Nice room with good facilities in a great location and a lovely host.

Pros: Location was fantastic, easy access to old streets, restaurant and shopping - right opposite the cathedral. Host was lovely and very helpful with local maps etc., room and bathroom is very private in a separate area to the main apartment, with a lovely balcony (although I didn't use as it was fairly cold/drizzly). Water and coffee/tea was available, and a cute little honesty bar if you needed drinks or snacks.

Cons: Stairs up to the room are very narrow and steep, which was fine for me but some might struggle. Bed is low to the ground - also fine for me but good to be aware! It was very difficult to find as the message regarding how to locate the property was received while I was travelling and my booking.com app hadn't updated with the message due to me not logging into wifi. If I had known before that it was a door with a tiny not visible sign next to the wine bar, it would have been a lot easier! But I called the host who called straight back and told me how to get in. All was good.

A super studio environment in a beautiful place.

Pros: Perfect city centre location with the bonus of a kitchen. Quiet.

Cons: For me it was fine, but would be impossible for anyone with mobility issues or for older people. The stairs are difficult.

Mechelen ontdekken vanuit het hart van de stad.

Pros: De ruimtes waren kraaknet en voorzien van alle mogelijke comfort. Heel fijn dat er gratis koffie en thee beschikbaar waren en dat er aan zeer schappelijke prijzen nog wat lekkers klaar lag in de frigo. De ruimte is heel erg gezellig ingericht met oog voor detail en esthetiek. We kregen tips voor locaties om te gaan eten en ontbijten. De Griek was inderdaad een aanrader! ;-)

Cons: Werkelijk NIETS viel tegen. Wij hadden een topverblijf!
