Pros: A lovely cosy place. I most enjoyed the wine bar, really welcoming bar staff and the wine was excellent. It was nice to be in a place where locals go.

Cons: Nothing.

Perfect location for a visit in Gent

Cosy and cute stay

Pros: Lovely birthday stay! Conveniently located - close to shops, cafes, restaurants, supermarket and the sites. Very clean room and bathroom. Loved the toasty, warm feeling when coming inside from the cold! The room smelt lovely and is decorated very cosily. It’s a small guest house, so you get the personal touches. Carine and her husband were very friendly. And invited us for a drink at their Parole wine bar which is on site. I highly recommend a visit to the wine bar, it’s very nicely done up.

Truly Excellent; Stay Here and Drink Wine

Pros: Cannot recommend enough, this place was such a beautiful place to stay and felt so luxurious, while being right in the centre of everything. Additionally, the wine bar that it is connected to is wonderful, with a really nice selection of wines and great ambience. And all of this for a very affordable price.

Lovely room and centrally located.

Pros: The room had a beautiful interior and was clean, with a large bathroom and modern facilities. The guesthouse is centrally located, and although there were no staff, there was a good level of communication. I was messaged well in advance of the door codes and instructions on how to find the guesthouse. We were also given a free drink in the wine bar, which was a nice touch.

Really enjoyed our stay

Pros: Lovely new room- with modern fittings. A range of excellent toiletries. Next door - the owners bar- lovely gin and tonic- which she treated us to! Good guide of local restaurants in the room folder.

We will definitely use Hotel Margo again.

Pros: Great location near the centre of Ghent. Owners were welcoming offering us a glass of wine in their fabulous wine bar next door. Room was lovely with tea and coffee facilities. The welcoming email gave us all we needed to enjoy our stay.

Cons: Be aware if the wine bar is closed it is hard to find the rooms. We walked past 3 times before noticing the discreet sign. The hotel pictures you see are behind a wooden door.

Pros: Great location,good instructions sent for check in and directions . Accommodation is linked to a wine bar which which was very good. Artisan patisserie end of street for breakfast and a lovely Italian restaurant opposite the Accommodation. Lovely toiletries in the bathroom .

Cons: Could have been some uht milk mini cartons left which we then had to purchase for tea and coffee. There was a smell of drains in the bathroom which the owners were trying to sort out. Larger and softer towels would also be helpful.

A well located well presented and inviting property

Pros: A small secure well appointed comfortable room for a solo traveller Don’t be put off by my negative comments as it’s a lovely property with a warm and friendly host and hostess in a perfectly located position to explore the delights of Ghent.

Cons: Bonbon room: For me the lighting was too dim (mood lighting). The best light for makeup was in the mirror in the toilet. Because I have claustrophobia I struggled with the lack of light and the need to have the curtains drawn for privacy and the lack of a horizon. All personal problems that some else likely wouldn’t notice Had I looked further into the placement of the room Bonbon I wouldn’t have booked it. The biggest negative being that it opens onto the courtyard of the Wine Bar where people relax and converse until 11pm. There is no double glazing consequently you are party to others conversations. I had to ask a woman to move her chair so I could get out the door.

Pros: Fantastic location. Very comfy bed, very clean. Bathroom immaculate and products smelled lovely! Bed made and fresh towels every day.

Cons: Wine/beer garden right next to room was quite loud and felt like they could hear/see us if we could them! Would have been nice to have a fridge in room for water as it was a heatwave. Wish windows could open for fresh air - or maybe air con
