The combination of patterns and textiles in our room was really something to behold
Pros: Our room was opulent and glamorous, with a lovely bath and shower - I enjoyed the experience!
Cons: Not the most relaxed or warm welcome we have received but it may have been an off day.

Must see Charming property in the heart of Ghent
Pros: The attentiveness to detail and cleanliness. Kindness of the owners and sweetness of the house dog. The bath house is breathtakingly beautiful. The property is a truly magnificent masterpiece of elegance with a maximalist design twist which adds even more charm.
Cons: The bed wasn’t the most comfortable I slept in.

I thought I was getting princess treatment, but here they call it the Verhaegen experience
Pros: Everything was perfect - the owners were knowledgeable, they gave us a tour around the mansion, and were eager to answer any of our questions! The mansion itself exceeds all the expectations - every detail, the lighting, the merging of styles make this an interior design gem. The attention to detail, passion, and love for the craft are seen everywhere - from the choice of the silverware to the apple and lemon trees in the garden. The breakfast is great, the beds are insanely comfortable. The location is incredible, the B&B is in a quiet residential area, 3-5 mins walking distance away from the city centre.
Cons: absolutely nothing. Maybe this would not be a perfect place for minimalist design lovers, but we were here for it, even despite our love for minimalism

Beautiful property near the heart of Gent. Feudal breakfast to be recommended. Staff very friendly and welcoming.
Pros: It is like a little Museum, very historical with a bit of modern art and design added.
Cons: Due to the age of the building it could get a little stuffy in the room, but that could be dealt with some airing out.

We loved the home, the owners, the history, the interiors and the lovely springer spaniel Tomba.
Pros: The property/home is exceptional. Straight out of the 1700’s and faithfully restored by the owners, two interior designers whose home you will be staying in. The breakfast was extremely good in the original dining room. The original paintings are just too beautiful!!
Cons: Our stay here was too short, just two nights. Be aware that it feels like a time capsule where the furnishings are absolutely beautiful. Due to the age of the original property there is no lift and the staff will take your baggage to and from your room. If you prefer minimal stairs, mention it when booking. We are in our 70’s and loved it!!

A unique and beautiful place to stay. Highly recommend
Pros: What a fantastic historic gem, but also in a really great location for exploring Ghent . A truly beautiful yet comfortable place to stay and relax with such welcoming and helpful hosts. The interior is a feast to the eyes and so stylishly curated with great attention to detail in all the rooms and spaces. A real pleasure to wonder round and explore, including the wonderful gardens. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to return.
