Great location, comfortable stay.

Pros: The room was comfortable and the hotel is in a great location.

Cons: The staff could have been a little more helpful and knowledgeable.

Monasterium is a very good 3 star; clean, interesting, good location & breakfast; friendly staff.

Pros: The gentleman at the desk helped me change my room near the elevator when there was an unpleasant medicinal smell. He was very friendly and attentive to make sure the new room was good, and offered me a few options. My new room was very good and looked out on a courtyard.

Great place to stay, would stay again

Pros: Nice setting in an old monastery. Location was great, nice and close to main part of town

Cons: Stairs with bags wasn’t great.

Pros: The location is amazing, beautiful neogothic architecture, spotless rooms and splendid common areas. Very dark academia coded. If you're into historic architecture, you will love it.

Cons: The breakfast, to my taste, was not quite good value for money: you pay 25 euro for a modest, average buffet. Coffeshops nearby have much better pastries and coffee for half of that.

I enjoyed, inded!

Pros: An interesting historical building, perfect cleanliness, big bathroom, polite and friendly staff, delicious breakfast, excellent location. A lot of details saying about hotel origin (it was old monastery before), unusual atmosphere, parking.

Cons: my first room size was too little but price was too high for it. My second room had too litle space for cloth. And I was not preliminary informed that the building I lived did not have an elevator.

Good place to stay.

Pros: Decent room size, newly renovated, comfortable. Nice, freshly done bathroom. Good location, walking distance to the very centre. Interesting ambience, well designed metamorphosis of the monastery. The street parking in front is free on Sundays and holidays.

Cons: You can hear steps in the room above early in the morning. They won’t serve you a drink at the bar 10 minutes before closing, although the place is full and no one seems to be leaving. Too many decorative cushions on the bed with little space to place them for the night.

A good place to stay if you like Victorian-style atmosphere

Pros: Interesting buildings -conversion from a training college for priests. Felt a bit like my old school! Comfortable room (1.3- I think it was an accessible room with wet room). Generous buffet breakfast.

Cons: Wouldn’t suit everyone- rather gloomy feel (weather was bad during our stay)

Convenient and comfortable stay right at the heart of the action.

Pros: We were on street level but despite this the room was quiet and very comfortable. It's super close to the city centre and we easily walked into Gent to explore.

Cons: Parking was limited, that said we parked on the street outside and it was completely fine.
